She was workin with orange juice that was ice cold to wake his mouth up. LOL he is not impressed! He is more and more adversive and has regressed. She says that as children with cerebral palsy grow eating gets harder and that she does not think he will ever eat for nourishment :( I am havin a hard time giving that up but she says just little bites for pleasure but that wil be it.
we were shoe shoppin for sandles with a sturdy base for just play and we were gonna try on the next size up, he sat there and put the paper back in the shoes just like it was when we got them adn put them back in the box! so sweet :)
another shot
our income tax retrun came! Celebrating for us!!! We went to TExas Road house and had STEAK!! A mama fav! :) We are going to get the boys Louisiana Birth Certificates, name changes and citizenship done now! WOOHOO and a friend from Church and his father are donating the labor to build porches and ramps and so they came out yesterday to measure. The plan is an 8 x 8 foot porch in front with a ramp off the side and a 8 X 16 inch porch in the back with a ramp. Waiting on what kind of deal they can get with there supply place to see the costs and make sure we can do it and still get some other things done too! PRAYING to pull up carpet in living room and put down flooring (either wood or wood look) and a rug. I think I can keep that way cleaner and put Miah on mats and pallats which I do on top of the yuck carpet anyway! :) Praying hard if there is money left about what the next project needs to be. We are takin a trip to Baton Roughe June 15 through 17th to see a Pediatric Neurologist Specialist for a second opinion so that will be part of it. PRAYING at least for clarty and perhaps a better report but we shall see.
This PT was filing in for ours and she found a ticke spot! LOL
I LOVE HIS SMILE and giggle :)
Video at the bottom, can't get it here for some reason sigh
and then we have this face :( I took a picture because he has done this a few times now. He makes this face and it stays like that for a good while and tears will stream down his face and it is the saddest thing on the planet. I was bawing my head off thinking he felt left out or something but no matter what we did he still was sad. He has done a few other times with the silent tears and last night he was craying uncontrollably and very loudly and somewhat rhythmatically. I wonder if it is seizure activity or at least last night anyway. I plan to ask the Neuro or maybe he is jsut really sad for some reason which breaks my heart totally :(
Now that Jeremiah is 3 he has therapist from the school come out to the house. He is here gettin special instruction and the OT is here instructing teacher on things to do with him. The OT only gets to come a couple times a semester the teacher comes onse a week. He also has an adaptive PE teacher that comes and the PT came out to evaluate and I guess share waht to do with the PE teacher. and then the speech therapist comes out onse a week as well. She is workin on communication with switches. the hope is someday he can do that. Noah is assisting them above as you see :) This is his same teacher and OT consultant.
Jeremiah had a pretty severe seizure Saturday monring followed by 20 severe episodes of retching and lack of oxygen in all. We were instructed by pediatrician to go to ER. He is doing better and they think it was just a breakthrough seizure! JUST A BREAKTHROUGH! HELLO that was some breakthrough :( sigh but prayerfully wil not happen again! and the retching we hope to deal with tomorow at our Pediatric GI appt out of town.
Noah crashed durin family game night :) lol

Wonderful pictures. I was wondering if you knew about the 13,000. adoption refund. It is a refund now not just a credit and you get it in full if you have a sn child. I read some families were getting 56 and 75,000.00 back. We are hoping to use ours for a down payment on our house so we can buy it. IRS is not handing the checks out without a fight though I hear. Anyways I hope you took advantage of that I am sure it would be a blessing to yall as it will to us.
Be blessed
Ashlee

Wow, the progress he has made in just a year. Don't give up on the eating progress. I had a student with Trisomy 13 who was older than average and I think (don't quote me) but the only T13 eating by mouth. But very rare for her condition. Sometimes there were set-backs. Never set the bar too low. Does your OT/SLP do oral motor exercises to wake up the mouth? You start every feeding with oral motor. In my SXI class last fall, we did oral motor in class before breakfast and lunch with all of our students - all with eating issues. One child with CP used a vibrating oral gum brush before getting started. We used rags coarsely on the cheek in an upward motion to get the muscles stimulated; and we also did large motor input on the body and shoulders to get them relaxed. Baby steps, but steady progress.
Ashlee, I thought the tax credit was a one-time refund up to 13,000? What is the 56 75000 thing. I'm confused.
Thanks,
Jill
