21 Months!

Wow! I can't believe Noah is 21 months old today! :) I am so blessed :) Each day with him he learns and surprises me more and more! I can't believe he has been in my life and heart over 14 months since the first day I laid eyes on his photo and in my home just over 4 months! What a 4 months it has been! :) The latest excitement is that Noah can now say "MAMA"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am beyond myself with excitement! and it is consistent he makes the sounds now :) He will saw ma ma ma ma! :) heehee but he says it and grins! He is so proud of himself! When he wants me and he is not getting me for some reason he will go ma ma ma ma ma over and over :) Just like he does Jei jei and Da Da!! He also can sign eat, more and his version of water! :) so cute! But boy howdy he thinks if he signs it he is suppose to get it NOW! LOL He does NOT like no that's enough or whatever! He gets so upset and will sign and cry :( so sad :( He is fighting sleep ALOT more so that is not a good thing and he still wakes up in the night and the ONLY thing that calms him is laying in our bed or getting up. I have an aversion to waking up at 3 am to stay! Just a weird thing about me! heehee I think it is just a security thing for him and when he comes to the surface he wants to make sure we are still here! :) He has started climbing but not bad. he will hike a leg up and I have to stop him quick or he will be scaling something! Mama still does not care for that skill! :) Noah is doing very well in therapy and has fallen in love with Maria his special therapist and will hug her and everything by the end of each session :) He loves to run from me to her and get lovings from each of us! I struggle alot with feeling like I am not being the mama that Noah deserves and I keep striving to do better. I know he is very attached to me and that is a good thing! Though at times it can be difficult for me and somewhat upsetting for others. Alot of folks have quit trying to play with him and such because he is so clingy to me and that makes me sad that they will miss out on the joy of him because they can't be a bit patient with him. Believe me if they just hand on the joy he will give them is so above the top! :) We have quite a group of toddlers in our Church now and though we have always done a family sunday school we decided the need for a class for the toddlers was important and since Bobby and I are the children's Pastors we will be teaching that class! :) I am so excited and must say overwhelmed in some ways. I have worked in day cares in the past with 21 one year olds but for some reason just the responsibility for these little ones while giving my son what he needs is overwhelming. Yesterday was the first class I taught (bobby ended up having to work). Only 4 of them were there but one particular little boy cries ALOT and so anytime I tried to comfort him or any of the kids Noah had to be in my lap too! Jealous is an understatement! :) But I guess that is good that he KNOWS I am his mama! :) It was quite a loud class this time as one little girl would play scream anytime the boys cried at all! lol But we did sing some and we had music going the whole time and we learned that God made them and their eyes and ears and such! :) even in all the tears it was a sweet time if that makes since at all. Sharing is NOT a strong suit by most in this class! Noah has always been remarkably good at that. I wonder if it was the fact of having to share everything at the orphanage! He is learning now to not share here lately and I am like, whoa buddy you were such a good share boy. lol! Wanna fuss at the others not to teach my boy to be that way heehee! :) Noah is such a cuddle bug! Some days he is literally in my lap or arms all day and crying if I have to put him down. He LOVES daddy and literally JUMPS for joy when Bobby comes in from work and such! And the grin is ear to ear! :) He also adores Jei Jei and playing and dancing with her! They have such a sweet relationship! He is very into the two pups and will just giggle watching them :) He has the most adorable personality and will lean over and put his face in front of mine to get me to look at him if I am looking at someone or something else as if to say DONT FORGET ABOUT ME HERE! heehee In all the midst of my mother in law and her medical fiasco's and 3 different hospitals and Icu and such Noah was such a trooper for such a long while. He did begin to have some melt downs LATE late at night when we would come home to rest and I had to make the decision that since she was no longer critical we had to be home and back to a more normal schedule and life with him! Just a couple days and he is back to the schedule for the most part. I mean it is not set in stone but we do have a somewhat schedule we try to stick to for meals and sleeps. He does better that way it seems! I am sure I am just totally rambling here! Sorry yall. I have had a few requests to post about how Panda Boy was doing and all so I am just writing what comes to mind at this point! :) I just can tell you I am more and more in love each day with this baby and I can't imagine my life without him! I so want to be the mama he deserves and give him everything in the world I can! It amazes me that he is 21 months old! The therapist evals have put him at younger ages in different areas and that is ok because he is who he is! He definitly learns, he definitly is growing and developing and he definitly can love! I thank God for all these things! Most of all I thank God that He trusted me with this angel baby! Children are gifts from God and I defintly do not feel worthy of this gift and commit again to Noah and the Lord to do ALL I can to be the best mom I can be, to raise this child to love the Lord and be all that he can be! Here are a few pictures of our sweet little man!

The quality is not good! I had my cell phone in there in case a call came in about mom in law! He always does the CUTEST things when all I have is the cell phone!

So funny to me that THIS is the baby who screamed bloody murder during baths at the beginning! :)

Isn't he the most adorable thing! :) So sweet! :) Here he is in a present from Breelyn and her mommy! :) You can't see the whole outfit but you can tell how good it looks on him! :) Course EVERYTHING looks good on Noah! He is so beautimous! :)

Here is Noah playing with Daddy and some keys on a lanyard at the hospital waiting room! The pics took at the hospital will be the last ones in THIS stroller! It broke yesterday beyond repair :( It went through my neice and 3 nephews and was used when they got it! My nephew nathan is a VERY large boy so it served a good life! It was given to me for sentimental reasons so I never bought a stroller. Now I will have too because I use it ALOT!

Table Buddies!!! :) Noah and his friend Tathen! I can't remember if I posted this yet or not! :) I was babysitting and Noah had to share his shelf! heehee :)

WE send you blessings and Kisses in the wind!

Happy 21 months old, big guy! You must have cried tears of joy when he first called you "Mama." Now that's a milestone.

Glad to hear that your mother-in-law's condition has been upgraded. Prayers that her healing will continue.

Jaden is the same way with sleep. She wakes in the middle of the night and needs to be in bed with us. Tami - you're the perfect mom for Noah. I can feel the love you have for him in every post you make. Glad to hear he's doing well in his therapy.

Tami,
That is so great that he said Mama! I'm so happy for you! Isn't it funny how you beg them to talk at first and then tell them to be quiet later. haha! Just wait...He'll be jabbering your ear off in no time. You are the BEST mom to Noah. Stop saying that you're not. You Are! Don't over-think things. He's a happy little boy and you love him more than anything. It's SO obvious in photos and your writings. Try to accept that God put Noah where he belongs...with YOU! He trusted you to care for that little boy and you're not letting Him down. You're doing a fabulous job!
Love ya, Holli

I have to write this essay on all children can learn and reading about Noah is an inspiration! It is too easy for people to give up on children...especially children who have special needs! Love to ya dear!

how cute! he is a real sweetie. Sarah is doing the same thing with the sleeping issue so i am right there with you...nightmare. She wakes up about 10 times and then in the end gets into be with me, plays and wiggles for about an hour and then falls asleep..
I guess i will have to just break this habit the hard way but its so sad to leave them crying in their cribs when you know that this is what they did in the orphanage for such a long time.
Take care..so when is he 2?

Thanks for listening. Our home is a crazy house. The two little ones would get up at 7 a.m. and screamed at each other until one fell asleep (will post pics later). Lovely pictures of Noah, he's such a sweetheart and growing so well. You're doing a great job!!
God bless,
Mel

Tami,
It's been awhile since I visited your blog so had some catching up to do. I can't believe how much your Noah has grown. I'm sure it is wonderful to hear him say mama. We are never perfect parents but we point our kids to the ONE who is perfect. I know you are a good mama.

Kisses in the Wind

KISSES IN THE WIND
I hold you in my heart and touch you in my dreams.
You are here each day with me, at least that's how it seems.

I know you wonder where we are... what's taking us so long.
But remember child, I love you so and God will keep you strong.

Now go outside and feel the breeze and let it touch your skin...Because tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.

May God hold you in His hand until I can be with you.
I promise you, my darling, I'm doing all that I can do.

Very soon, you'll have a family for real, not just pretend. But for tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.

May God wrap you in His arms and hold you very tight.
And let the angels bring the kisses that I sent to you each night.

When Love Takes You In!
