Not flesh of my flesh, nor bone of my bone; but, still miraculously, my own.
Never forget, for a single minute you didn't grow under my heart, but in it.

Praying Tami! If anyone can reach your little guy it's you! God knows how much you love Jeremiah. And Jeremiah will know too just by the sound of your voice and your gentle touch. Hugs to you!

You're going to use touch Tami.
Massage those little arms and legs. just like you practiced in your head when you were waiting for him.
Skin to skin, hold him next to your skin as much as possible. Talk quietly, calmly and try singing, he will feel the vibrations and it will soothe him.

Be easy on yourself right now, okay. Remember it takes a few days to re-group after the trip and you are also taking care of Noah, meals, laundry and everything else...
It will all fall into place and you will get a handle on things over the next couple of weeks...

I'm Going to call you when I think you'll be home from church. If you get this before then feel free to call me.
Thinking of you!

You have so much love for Jeremiah that you will get through to him. No ifs, ands, or but about it. Coming home is much harder when you have other little ones to care for. Take it easy on yourself. You do not need to have all the answers today, they will find their way to you. Praying for you all.

Acer cannot see at all, so I found it very important for him to sleep with us for 6 months. It was a pain, as Acer likes to sleep sideways to what everyone else does, plus he didn't like blankets, so BIll and I each had our own separate blanket that didn't go over Acer. When we finally put him into his own bed, I made sure that one of our blankets went with him, so he still had our scent, even in the other bed.
Using a baby carrier like the Ergo which will go up to 40 pounds is good, the more you carry him the better.
The next thing to do is talk, a LOT, narrate your life. this is how he will learn that there is more to life than just what he can feel.
As he gets some movement, take a box and hang things from the sides and ceiling, and lay him in it. This is a great way for him to be able to explore, and know where the toys are. the toys will not move too far, but it will encourage him to reach for them and explore the rest of the box.
It will be slow, but there will be progress.
Prayers and blessings for you.

Sweet Tami,

I know you've waited and hoped for this time with him and are now facing the difficulty of forming a "game plan" for his health and bonding. It may seem a daunting mountain to climb, but the Lord is beside you and your dear Frogie boy will inch and climb with you to assist him. The going may be slow, but I know that you will advance. Knowing how poor his sight is, it reminds me of Nikki (Blogs for a Cause) who was just in India volunteering with Sarah's Covenant Homes. She determined that her goal would be to help a precious blind girl in the orphanage, April, to stop resisting touch. During her amazing month there, April did start responding and being less nervous. Bit by bit, tiny step by tiny step, she made headway with her. Some of this is chronicled on her blog, but I bet she'd also communicate with you. I know she loved water and music (she was also quite a bit older than Jeremiah). Anyway, in the day-to-day, it may not have seemed like much, but at the end of the month, I do believe April really started to stand touch longer and longer. Praying for you,
Tisra

Kisses in the Wind

KISSES IN THE WIND
I hold you in my heart and touch you in my dreams.
You are here each day with me, at least that's how it seems.

I know you wonder where we are... what's taking us so long.
But remember child, I love you so and God will keep you strong.

Now go outside and feel the breeze and let it touch your skin...Because tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.

May God hold you in His hand until I can be with you.
I promise you, my darling, I'm doing all that I can do.

Very soon, you'll have a family for real, not just pretend. But for tonight, just as always, I blow you kisses in the wind.

May God wrap you in His arms and hold you very tight.
And let the angels bring the kisses that I sent to you each night.

When Love Takes You In!
